In April 2011, JD Gershbein was hand-picked by his alma mater, the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart School of Business in Chicago, to design and teach the school’s first-ever course in social media marketing strategy to its MBA candidates. At the time, he became the first practitioner in the world to teach these emerging technologies at the graduate school level at a major academic institution, while also providing LinkedIn training at Fortune 500 companies.
As a speaker, JD brings immeasurable value to the academic setting. A believer in experiential learning, he energizes his students with valuable insights into personal branding and social networking that will help them increase their marketability to prospective employers. They leave inspired and ready to apply their new knowledge and better prepared for real-world challenges.
THE JD DAY ON CAMPUS is a customized, one-of-a-kind LinkedIn learning experience that engages students, career services teams, administrators, alumni, and corporate partners and includes any or all of the following programs:
♦ An interactive, content-rich workshop for students grounded in JD’s own personal narrative, focused on LinkedIn profile development, brand storytelling, and social networking strategy. This content-rich session includes creative exercises that will help students crystallize their future vision, develop skills that are essential for building professional relationships, and communicate with confidence and purpose.
♦ An informal Q & A or “working lunch” with JD for selected students on a leadership track.
♦ A LinkedIn strategic roundtable session for career services teams, mentors, and administrators.
♦ A sponsored LinkedIn educational program for the school’s alumni and/or corporate partners in which students may also participate.
