Why should I book you to speak at my event or to my organization?
JD: I respect my audience and the people who are responsible for bringing me in to speak. I consider every speaking engagement a privilege, and nurture its success from the time I am booked until the moment I walk off the stage. In me, you gain a speaker who is well-rehearsed, composed, and laser-focused on delivering programs that will educate, entertain, and inspire. I treat every audience as if I were out there with them watching me, and think, ‘What would I want to hear this guy say?’
What is different about you?
JD: Throughout the years, I have developed a speaking style that I believe separates me from others in the craft. I leverage my own story as a learning experience, sharing the good and the not-so good, inspiring others to move the needle as I have. I use subtle humor to simplify what can be very complicated concepts for businesspeople today. My background in psychology, applied neuroscience, broadcast journalism, marketing, and performance art afford me with a unique perspective and stage presence that others in my arena simply cannot match.
What are the top takeaways from your programs?
JD: Each learning experience is customized according to the needs of your organization or team and thematically aligned with the event you are planning. I understand how frustrating the online world can be for some. I strive to be that voice of clarity and reason. Rather than bog people down with minutiae, I get them in gear by showing them what is possible. My audiences leave invigorated, brimming with new ideas, and ready to effect positive change.
What can we expect from you at our event?
JD: You and your attendees can count on me bringing my A-game. My responsibility as your keynote speaker is to provoke thought and catalyze action. I address all the frequently-asked questions and leave no stone unturned in making sure your people get the knowledge they need. I stay on top of trends in the social business world and continually refresh my content. And I am not one of those speakers who delivers a talk then disappears. I like to partake in all activities that the event has to offer, especially the networking. While on-site, I can make myself available to any interested attendees who wish to schedule private consultations with me.
Do you prefer a keynote, a breakout session, or a combination of both?
JD: I am equally comfortable as a keynoter and facilitator, and understand the expectations set forth for each experience. Often, in order to reach more attendees, I am retained to do multiple sessions, which includes both a keynote and a breakout, or multiple slots in a breakout speaking agenda. I will faithfully undertake whatever role the organizer envisions for me.
What else should we know about you?
JD: Well, I have no dietary restrictions. But seriously, I am a dream collaborator who goes the extra mile. You are making an investment in me, and I want to make sure you get an excellent return. To that end, I will work closely with you and your team to ensure a successful engagement. In speaking, nothing satisfies me more than seeing that glow of new knowledge illuminate the faces in the audience. When I wrap up, my hope is that your attendees will pull you aside and mention, “Hey, thank you for bringing that guy in to speak.”
